The festival again runs seven music stages: Kanalstraße, Spittelstraße (powered by Antenne Kaiserslautern at the entrance to Martinsplatz), Unionsplatz, Salzstraße, Platz der Kinderrechte (with SWR1 and SWR3 partner programming), Wadgasser Hof (the RPR1 Weindorf wine-village pop-up), and Mainzer Tor. Getting there

It is useful for KMC residents heading back toward Landstuhl, Weilerbach, or Ramstein-Miesenbach after the Friday and Saturday late programmes. On Sunday the festival closes at 22:00, early enough for the regular evening trains and buses.

- Cash and card: Most Altstadtfest stands take card and contactless, but a small reserve of cash (€20-40) is sensible for the medieval market and smaller Verein stands. ATMs cluster around Stiftsplatz and Fackelstraße but queue up after 21:00.
- Glass-free zone: The entire festival area is glasfrei (glass-free) by city ordinance; only restaurant terrace seating is exempt. Vendors serve drinks in plastic or deposit cups (Pfandbecher, typically a €2 returnable deposit). Do not bring outside glass containers; security at the perimeter will confiscate.[3]
- What to wear: July in the Westpfalz runs warm during the day (often 25-32°C) and cools to the high teens after midnight. A light layer for late evening is sensible; closed-toe shoes are smart on the cobblestones, especially if dancing at Lautern tanzt.
